Afrika Bambaataa Creating National Hip-Hop Museum

After being acknowledged as a visiting scholar at Cornell University, Afrika Bambaata signed a letter stating his intentions to create the National Museum of Hip Hop at the Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx.

The location of the museum is dependent on Youngwood and Associates having the winning bid to transform the Armory; the winner will likely be chosen by the end of the year by the New York City Economic Development Corporation. With the help of other legendary pioneers Bambaataa hopes to form an alliance and meet with the Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. to discuss the project.
