There has been an influx of Azaleas/Azealias/other flowers that rap lately. It’s easy to get them confused if you only listen to their names. Fortunately for them, everything else is vastly different. If you frequent this site then you should be very familiar with the Harlem representing Azealia Banks. If you are not a regular of the blogosphere then you probably have heard her songs randomly but had no idea what she looked like. “212” is nearly inescapable this year. With a rapidly, provocative rhyming atop of dance/house tracks makes Banks very distinguishable in the basic formatted mainstream. So who is Iggy Azalea?
As previously stated, Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea couldn’t be more different. While the rough voiced Harlemite, Banks, makes a name for herself on the dance floor, the rapper from Down Under is beginning to make a name for herself in the mainstream. In addition to a highly sought after modeling contract, the Australian rhyme spitter, Iggy Azalea, has signed with internationally known rapper and actor, T.I., and his record label. With all-star collaborations, relationship speculations, and surprisingly gritty, hood singles, this Aussie has definitely begun to stand out of the crowd of her freshman peers. Being White doesn’t hurt the distinction either.
Iggy Azalea dropped a freEP six-tracked Glory EP as a precursor to her full album, The New Classic. Pusha T, Mike Posner,B.o.B, and T.I. contributed to the EP.
