Fractal Animations Show the Anatomy of a Viral Photo

San Francisco-based studio Stamen Design took three of the most shared images on Facebook–Marvin the Martian, Famous Failures, and Ab Fab London, and created beautiful fractal animations to illustrate exactly how they go viral, moving from one connection to the next. That’s the Marvin the Martian animation above. The creators used 3 months of data, including information as specific as users’ gender, to create the visualization. Check out the rest below.
